All of these pictures were taken during the drive back across the country, from Las Vegas, to North Carolina.  You must guess the state in which each picture was taken.  Heck, there are only so many possible answers.    If you know the path we took, then you have a leg up, so you may have to go back and do a little reading!    The pictures are in no particular order and each state is represented once - so all of the answers are different.

The contest ends Saturday, June 8th, Midnight, Eastern Standard Time.  All entries must be received by then.

Picture #1 - What state is this in?

Clue:  This is a memorial to the man many consider to be our greatest President, erected at his boyhood home.

Picture #2 - What state is this in?

Clue:  This is the restored clubhouse of the world's first Motorsports Country Club.

Picture #3 - What state is this in?

Clue:  Site of the World's first Rodeo, but you can read that, can't you?

Picture #4  - What state is this in?

Clue:  Oooh, a toughie.    Actually, a careful internet search might turn this one up...

Picture #5 - What state is this in?

Clue:  This monument is dear to Mini, because of it's English heritage.  It was erected at the site of a famous speech given by this stogie smoking, bulldog loving icon, a world leader during WWII.

Picture #6 - What state is this in?

Clue:  Patterned after the US Capitol, this state capitol building has a beautiful gold leaf dome, paid for by private donations.

Picture #7 - What state is this in?

Clue:  A gorgeous state with varied scenery.  But unfortunately there are no landmarks to identify the specific location.  So you are going to need to guess!  Aren't I mean?

We think there will be several folks that get all of the answers right.  So these optional tie-breaker questions will be used to resolve ties.

Tiebreaker #1)  Can you guess which of our two adventurers was raised near the site of Picture #6? 

Tiebreaker #2)  What is the name of the famous speech referred to in Picture #5?  This will require a little research, perhaps.

Tiebreaker #3)  Ultimate tie breaker - guess the current mileage (as of 5/31/02) on Mark's F250 Pickup.   A valuable clue is on one of the pages in the story.  You may have to do some math though, to get close to the current number.  Closest to the mileage is all that matters.
